Holiday Music Palate Cleanser

I love everything about Christmas.  I really do.  But sometimes in the hubbub of the holidays (and the inevitable projects and annual award nominations you are trying to complete) the last thing you need to hear is another rendition of "Santa Baby" and "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer."

So here is a collection of podcasts that I've enjoyed recently that you might enjoy too.

The Boundless Sky from The Moth - A 97 year old woman describes training young men for WWII combat as a WASP.

Just a Little Bit from The Moth - A father being deployed must find a way to explain it to his children (it's not depressing, I promise, actually very sweet)

Interview with Billy Gardell from Girl on Guy - this is the podcast of Aisha Tyler from The Talk, Archer and Who's Line Is It Anyway?.  Billy Gardell is Mike of the show Mike and Molly.  This podcast tends to be very "blue" - definitely should not be listened to with kids in the car - but this interview wasn't as "salty" (my son's term for bad words) and Billy's views on being happy with who you are as a 40 something was pretty awesome.

Quiet from the TED Radio Hour - part of this podcast discussed introverts.  I would describe myself as an introvert and my friends describe me as a extrovert, and when I take the Myers-Brigg I score almost exactly in the middle.  The part of the podcast about the singer was really interesting (I won't spoil it for you)

Enjoy!
